Irene Uribe Manrique de Lara
Born in Brownsville, Texas, in 1980, Irene Uribe Manrique de Lara has been deeply inspired by the human struggle and what represents hope to many, such hope has now become artwork with hummingbirds, hearts, geode stones and lately sculptures made of a collage of elements that include and repeat the same symbols.
She believes in the power of acceptance and gratitude within the chaos of life and love. These themes are central to her artistic vision and continue to shape her every evolving mix-media work.
Elements in her work, such as stones, symbolize strength, hope and abundance, while hummingbirds represent the human spirit as it’s always flying in balance between fragility and resilience. Open hands, apples, birds represent gratitude abundance, luck and fortune.
